Ruth-Ann Bent, MSW 

Founder & Board Chair

Ruth-Ann is the visionary behind The Holding Circle, dedicated to ensuring that no parent walks through the early years of caregiving alone. A seasoned social worker with over a decade of experience in child welfare, adoption, and family support, she combines professional expertise with lived experience as a mother. Ruth-Ann founded The Holding Circle out of a deep belief in the power of community care and the healing potential of collective support. As Board Chair, she leads the organization’s strategic vision and nurtures its mission of creating a village for every parent.

    Roderick Dudley-Bent

    Treasurer

    Roderick brings more than 30 years of experience in finance and sales to The Holding Circle. After eight years as a financial advisor on Wall Street, he served as Business and Development Manager for several companies and is now self-employed as a life insurance agent specializing in life insurance and annuities. A devoted father, he believes strongly in hands-on parenting and helped keep their young son at home during the early years to provide a nurturing foundation. As Treasurer, he safeguards The Holding Circle’s financial health and helps ensure its long-term sustainability.

    Renelle Mary Wolff, LICSW, LCSW, PMH-C

    Board Secretary

    Renelle is a therapist, mother, and founding board member at The Holding Circle, where she helps nurture the mission of caring for new parents when they need it most. She brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to this work, grounded in the belief that no one should have to navigate early parenthood alone. Renelle is owner and therapist at WolffMann Wellness LLC, a therapy practice serving five states dedicated to helping individuals, parents, and couples navigate life transitions such as parenthood, identity and career shifts, burnout, and relationship changes. As The Holding Circle’s Secretary, she helps guide governance and strategy while keeping compassion at the heart of decision-making.

    Anna Fisher, MSW

    Board Member-at-Large

    Anna is a passionate social worker and proud South Florida native. With a deep commitment to the dignity and worth of every individual, her work is guided by compassion and empathy. As a mother, she has personally experienced the strength and resilience needed during early life transitions and is driven to give back to the community. It is both an honor and a calling for her to serve on the board of The Holding Circle, supporting its mission to meet families exactly where they are and provide crucial support during times of transition and growth. Anna serves as a Member-at-Large, contributing her skills in fundraising, outreach, and advocacy.

    Alva M. Gaskey, BSW

    Board Member-at-Large

    Alva is a social worker, community advocate, and holistic healing practitioner dedicated to empowering families and strengthening communities. She holds a BSW from Barry University and is pursuing her MSW at Florida State University with a focus on maternal, infant, and early childhood mental health. With years of experience in child welfare in Miami-Dade County, Alva blends compassion and advocacy to support families through complex challenges. As a certified sound and vibration practitioner and Usui Reiki Master, she values the power of both community action and personal healing. Serving as a Member-at-Large, Alva is honored to advance The Holding Circle’s mission and uplift underserved communities.
